As you grab your favorite drink of choice and sit back to relax, you tune-in to what they’re saying it. Some of it you agree with. Some of it you laugh at. And some of it, you’re just completely shocked by it, because it couldn’t be further from the truth.
That’s where we come in.
Social Media and the Lack of Patience and Time
With the ever increasing popularity of social media, such as Facebook and Reddit, and the constant flow of information arriving at your fingertips at an ever increasing rate, it’s no surprise that more and more people are just simply reading the headline, or subtitle, immediately making a judgement call, and posting an emotional response without actually reading the article.
We like to call that, “the dumbing down of society”.
These days, most people don’t want to take the time to actually read the article and/or even do a little research to validate the main points of the subject matter.
Here at Talk Of The Bar, we will be posting occasional commentary on some of the more important topics that are currently gripping our society such as gun violence, school shootings, religious intolerance, social issues, politics and more.
BUT, we’re going to do it a little differently than the mainstream new channels out there. We plan on actually researching that which we comment on, AND try and provide our sources for YOU, the reader.
